About

Who We Are
Greensborough Model Aircraft Club (GMAC) is based at Yarrambat Park, which is the Shire of Nillumbik’s precinct for minority sports. Yarrambat Park is in Yan Yean Road, Yarrambat, in the state of Victoria, Australia.
Our members, young and young-at-heart, are from a diverse range of backgrounds, occupations and share a common passion in model aviation.
GMAC is a not-for-profit-organization and our annual membership fees are kept at a modest rate. The fees provide for levies by state and federal regulatory bodies, maintenance and minor improvements to the site, administration of the club’s affairs and a small margin for contingencies. Junior and associate membership is also available.

About Our Club
Our club is a first class recreational facility and considered to be one of the best flying fields in Australia. The grass runway and taxiways show the benefits of regular maintenance and grooming, despite the efforts of the local kangaroo and rabbit populations.
A large undercover BBQ and outdoor seating creates a family-friendly environment and plenty of space for social activities.
We do pride ourselves on being family friendly and keen social fliers, but that doesn’t exclude our strong showing in the competitive arena of our sport. We boast numerous Australian champions in various flying disciplines, Australian International Team representatives and an Australian and previous, World Record Holder.

Facilities
Our modern club house has a kitchen, toilets, it’s own water supply, and we enjoy mains power connection. The Pits include a large shade roof to provide protection from the weather, as well as a substantial grassed area. The Pits also have power outlets for all our members needs.
Access to the club facilities is by a security key. These facilities are open to members seven days a week, all year round.

Flying

  • ‘Wet’ fuel powered aircraft may fly between 9.00 am and 8.00 pm.
  • Electric aircraft may fly between 7am and 11.00 pm.
    • (Night flying may occur, with the appropriate authority.)
